Our first day out brought us a double header and back-to-back loses.We have some new faces joining us this year and some old faces that have returned. We need to welcome Darren, Donnie, Sonia, Stonewall and Chris. Sorry if I've forgotten anyone...it's not personal.Our first game was against "Oooh it's them" who turned out not to be the team that we started calling "Them" last year. This team is the fun group with the pitcher that looks kinda like Jessica Simpson with the husband who likes to mock us by catching the ball between his legs or behind his back. Remember, this was the guy that Karen wanted to slap at the King George field. It was a good game and they were a fun group even though "Jessica" laughed at me when I struck out. Being the first game with a bunch of new people we never really found our groove and ended up losing 11-sumthin'. The fact that we also had the auto out because we were short a girl probably didn't help either. The second game was against the "Lounge Lizards". It turns out we weren't able to find our groove for this game either. Another fun team who barely beat us 17-22. In this game we lost Shauna to injury after she stopped a ball with her knee cap. Not long after Shauna was sitting on the bench icing her knee and sucking back a cold one, Sonia takes a ricochet off the bat into the cheekbone. Being the trooper she is, Sonia keeps on playing.
